2012
VEGAS hereby announces that it will be closing its gallery space at the end of 2012. We’d like to thank Suzanne Schurgers for her inspired work establishing the gallery back in 2007 in a basement in Redchurch Street, and for continuing to run such a creative and bold enterprise over the years. We also would like to thank Jessica Carlisle who took over her position since January 2012, for all the exciting group exhibitions and hard work she put in to the gallery. We’d also like to say thank you to all our wonderful artists who have made the gallery what it is. Vegas will vacate its Poyser Street premises at the end of the year but will continue working through pop-up events both in London and abroad. Stay tuned!

Vegas Gallery to exhibit in the Globe at Crunch Festival 2011
This year at Crunch: the art and philosophy festival at hay, Vegas Gallery will be exhibiting the paintings of artist, critical theorist and psychoanalyst Bracha L. Ettinger and works by Elke Krystufek.
Crunch will be showcasing work from a number of young, exciting artists and galleries who engage with art as an activity that is not only commercial, but also fundamentally philosophical too.
The festival, running from the 18th – 20th November 2011, will also host an impressive range of cultural, artistic and intellectual figures. From Hans Ulrich Obrist ‘the most powerful man in the international art world’ (Guardian) to Susan Hiller, fresh from her retrospective at the Tate earlier this year, the Crunch 2011 speakers will debate and engage with this year’s theme, ‘Awake in the Universe’.
Hear Bracha speak in our opening debate on Friday 18th November with Susan Hiller and Julian Stallabrass, and in conversation with Griselda Pollock in ‘Becoming Human’ on Saturday 19th November.
